Claudz aka Miss Ouch, is a friendly, approachable yet humble individual who has carefully built up a rather meteoric, unique and respected reputation in the music business amongst promoters, artists and listeners alike both here in the UK and the USA in just eight short years. Originally from a 26-year lecturing/management background for Hair and Beauty courses in Further Education across London, it is there that her selecting of music became a common-place activity as she made mixtapes to play daily in the reception areas and training salons since young.
She is known publicly as specialising in the genre of Neo Independent Soul; however, it is clear to assess upon listening that she certainly is not to be pigeon holed into one genre, which can be heard by her back catalogue of showreels which are replayed during the twilight hours on The Rock 926 ( Tuesday & Thursday 12 Midnight to 2am GMT/ 8-10pmm EST ) Miss Ouch has been consistently creating timeless podcasts which have been tailored to cater for her listeners who tend to appreciate her edgy blend of carefully and purposeful style of mixing the ‘old with the new’ which makes her sets immediately relatable. In addition, if you look up the word ‘bassline’ in the dictionary, there you will see Claudz’s face (joke), but it is definitely her signature in terms of what you can expect to hear, so do mind your speakers!
Miss Ouch has an engaging, surprisingly edgy and unexpected delivery style consisting of predominately Irregular Bassline Soul, yet sometimes with a Reggae or indeed Rare Groove influence seamlessly blended in. She has played at the honourable Kindred Family Soul, Ledisi & Michon Young concerts courtesy of Soulgigs and Biggs and is sought after to bring her irregular and creative mixes to a variety of highly acclaimed social arenas by a number of promoters, & private events where she has had the pleasure of playing alongside an array of the highly reputable ‘Street Sounds’ in London.
Claudz aka Miss Ouch, is the founder of the recent, rather popular online platform called ‘The Artist Injection’ which was born in the year 2020 during the pandemic. A concept designed to help support Independent Artists from the UK & USA predominately. Claudz, someone who has been interviewing International Artists for nearly a decade now on the radio (formally on Raw Soul- London, Sounds Like Soul- Chicago, iLive Toronto and iLive UK,) she simply wanted to continue to find innovative ways in which to keep Artists at the forefront in music, something which is what Miss Ouch has become passionate about and renowned for. She had an overwhelming urge to engage & interact with her listeners live & visually, given that Covid 19 meant that socialising would be severely restricted for a sustained period. The Artist Injection has by default become her most prevalent activity in music since the show started, hence the decision to take a break from doing the conventional audio shows & instead forward her extensive back catalogue of music to the station of late & until further notice The Rock 926 kindly continue to support Claudz in her determination to build the brand for which she is extremely grateful.
The online visual shows are converted to audio and can be heard on the station in between the nostalgic podcasts periodically. Claudz designed the show’s format to embed short interviews, live performances, guest listeners and also to merge Slowjams, Neo Soul, Remixes and Lovers Rock to cater for differing tastes in music. It has been received extremely well, at times reaching as many as between 3,500 – 7, 500 viewers.
